Idea

Crisis Heroes tackles several challenges at the same time:
- it helps people (especially vulnerable ones, e.g., disabled or elders) do shopping (or get some things done) without leaving their homes and risking SARS-CoV-2 infection
- it helps small shops and local producers sell their products without too much effort and taking risk of infection
- it helps in filling the lack of delivery options to support online food shopping (currently, the online food buyers often have to wait many days for delivery)

Current Status

We are launching our idea to the market. Currently, we are fininshing the app development and doing a marketing campaign.

Market

We are going to collaborate with the following groups of users:
- shops and producers (e.g., local farmers)
- customers buying products online
- heroes (people or companies) possessing spare time, vehicles and a will to help

Problem or Opportunity

We see a couple of problems during the pandemic crisis:
- queues and restrictions in shops
- extended delivery time
- social distancing and quarantine

We tackle several challenges at the same time. There is no other solution who would solve it in a complex way.

Solution (product or service)

The app helps vulnerable people in getting standard tasks (such as doing shopping or going out with a dog) done. Also, it helps small and medium companies which struggle to sell their products as well as individuals who have recently lost their job or their income has been reduced.

Competitors

There are several competitors (e.g. Frisco, Lokalny Rolnik, Allegro). Right now they are facing difficulties with deliveries due to increased demand to home delivery. Their market share is approximately 60%.

Finance

As for the revenues, we are going to have regular membership fees and, after the pandemic crisis, commission. Thanks to our experience in software development, data science, and business, we can tremendously reduce our initial costs and launch our app relatively fast.

Business model

Our business model assumes recurring membership fee. They are going to be charged on a regular schedule. Later on, we are going to take up commission of each activity. The higher amount of the order, the lower the commission. If the order exceeds a given amount, there is no commission. The commission is included in the price of a service and varies depending on category. Thanks to that, Crisis Heroes manages the demand and encourages people to do shopping less often but with higher basket value - it will reduce the required number of deliveries, cost and environmental impact of delivery.

4. Hygienic articles and trainings for suppliers

Risks

We are not sure how long the pandemic crisis lasts and what impact the crisis has on future development of a product.

We haven't taken part in any incubation or acceleration program.

Won the competition and other awards

1st place in an international hackathon Hack Covid 19 (beat 400 people from more than 30 countries).
